Wir waren hier als Ausgangs- und Endstation unserer 9-tägigen Safari-Tour mit „Safari-Eyes“.
Ein ganz besonderer Ort, der uns sicher im Herzen bleiben wird.
Das Meru Nest ist eine sehr neue Lodge mit guter Erreichbarkeit der beiden Flughäfen von Arusha.
Auf der Anreise bekommen wir gleich einen Einblick in das alltägliche tansanische Leben. „Real-Live“ wie unser Guide Daniel immer sagt.
Unsere neue Bleibe hat eine tolle familiäre Atmosphäre, so dass wir uns vom ersten Moment an zuhause fühlen. Die liebevoll gestaltete, traditionell tansanische Einrichtung gibt dem ganzen Ort eine ganz besondere Ausstrahlung.
Nach dem Essen im großen und gemütlichen Zelt - in dem uns die Köchin Kurwa so toll mit ihren Töpfen auf offener Flamme bekocht hat - sind wir Abends noch gerne auf ein Getränk an die schöne Feuerstelle im Garten gegangen. Blick auf Arusha inklusive.
Zur Frühstückszeit überfliegen uns allmorgendlich etliche Hornbills mit einer Flugshow auf dem Weg in die Stadt. Sie geben der Unterkunft auch mit den Namen, da sie unterhalb des Mount Meru gelegen ist.

Ein riesiges Dankeschön an Katja für die herzliche Gastfreundschaft und an unseren großartigen Safari-Guide und Gastgeber Daniel, der unsere Tage mit seinem Wissen, seiner Ruhe und seinem grandiosen fahrerischen Können unvergesslich gemacht hat.
Der gesamte Staff war unglaublich freundlich und aufmerksam – und die afrikanische Küche fantastisch.

I went in February, the place is really welcoming, the rooms are beautiful and spotlessly clean, the food is exceptional, and the staff are very friendly. I would go back without hesitation and highly recommend it.

We did a Safari for 7 days with Safari Eyes and stayed at Meru Nest twice during our Safari. A great base to start and end your safari in Arusha.
The staff are so welcoming and accomodating, we enjoyed popcorn and toasted cashew nuts by the fire in the evening. All staff are local people and always do their best to make your time amazing, from the kitchen staff to security and the host thank you!
We stayed in the Hornbill room which was spacious and beautifully decorated. All of the decorations and furniture is locally sourced from the local markets and tradespeople. Overall a really brilliant stay, thankyou and we would love to return again some day.

We had a really lovely time during our stay. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and had a welcoming atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful, which made our experience even better. We enjoyed every moment and created some wonderful memories. Overall, it was a great stay and we would be happy to visit again. Thank you for making our trip so enjoyable! 😊

Welcoming atmosphere to a truly special small hotel - home from home . Lovely attention to detail - really loved all the local products on display - a lovely way to promote local crafts.
. Very comfortable beds - lovely way to start a safari holiday after a long flight or to unwind at the end of the safari .
Kate is available to assist in any way - from helping to organise the safari to getting /
Lovely views and very relaxing atmosphere - loved sitting around the fire pit relaxing .
Food excellent .
Felt very safe and secure .
